DR. SOLEDAD RAMIREZ MEDINA -- AN EXCEPTIONAL DOCTOR

Doctor Soledad Ramirez Medina, A PROMISE OF HEALTH's doctor, is an incredible person and physician.
Starting her 13th year with A PROMISE OF HEALTH in Oaxaca Mexico, she worked 11 years in the Zapotec community of Ayoquezco de Aldama treating patients coming from 24 small pueblos.
In 2021 she returned to the pueblo of her birth, to build a clinic to serve the Mixtec community of Santo Domingo Yanhuitlan.
Its last doctor passed away many years ago before Dr. Soledad returned home. Before her arrival, the only medical help was administered by a person who only knew some first aid. In the case of an emergency there was no professional medical person who could help. In Yanhuitlan’s smaller pueblos the same is true.
Under these circumstances, for Dr. Soledad to return home to build and open our A PROMISE OF HEALTH clinic for these Mixtec communities, is a very big deal!
Coming from a humble Mixtec family Dr. Soledad has faced many obstacles and hardships to become a medical doctor. Working days and studying at night, she completed her medical degree. Following her year of residency, she again worked odd jobs to help support her family while at the same time doing her year of medical service, required by the government of Mexico.
In 2006 she started private practice in her family’s small house in the capital city of Oaxaca Juarez. It was that year, following a life changing homeopathic healing, her life changed again. Studying at nights, she also became a homeopathic physician.
During the month of April 2010, Dr. Soledad moved with her family from Oaxaca Juarez to the pueblo of Ayoquezco. In an old remodeled government building, she opened A PROMISE OF HEALTH’s first Oaxaca clinic.
As an indigenous Mixtec woman who herself is no stranger to the struggles of her patients, with professional skill and great compassion, she is able to diagnose, treat and give healing homeopathic medications to her patients.
A PROMISE OF HEALTH is very proud of Doctor Soledad’s achievements. With the clinic open 5 days a week, from April 2010 until now, she has had more than 42,000 patient visits! This is an incredible body of work and great achievement for any doctor and especially ours!
