Executive Director Barbara Grannell
Mrs. Grannell,
co-founder of A Promise of Health, is a veteran non-profit professional. Former
Executive Director of the National Coalition for Public Lands and Natural
Resources, a grassroots activist organization, she brings 25 years of
organizational and motivational talents to inspire others to become involved in
bringing primary healthcare and education to the Yucatán Maya.

President and Director William Grannell
Mr. Grannell,
co-founder of A Promise of Health, is a former Oregon lawmaker who, following
his political career, became a state and national lobbyist representing county
government. Fluent in Spanish, he has been instrumental in the design of A
Promise of Health Mexico program. Traveling throughout the year to the Yucatán,
he has become an important link between our Mexico staff and partners.

Treasurer and Director Wes Hamdorf
Mr. Hamdorf and his wife Roberta live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Wes retired from
Rockwell Collins after 40 years as an engineer. He is active in his church,
Saint Andrews Lutheran, where he served as treasurer for 8 years. Both he and
wife have visited Promise of Health Medicine Wheels in Yucatán and are active
participants in our organization.

Webmaster and Director Jim Bird
Mr. Bird, Technology Director at GMAC-RFC in Minneapolis,
Minnesota, became a director of A Promise of Health in June, 2003. His work in
developing the organization’s website plus his involvement in other programs,
have inspired his company to match his efforts with financial assistance. His
wife Sheila is equally active as manager of A Promise of Health’s inkind
donation program.

Director Feliciano Cruz
Feliciano (Felix) Cruz,
who has been called both activist and entrepreneur by the California Monterey
Herald, is president of Chapulin Distributors Inc., a California immigrant owned
company importing organic, traditional Oaxaca food products from his native
village of Ayoquezco.
Felix is 46 years old
and lives with his family in San Marcos, California. He came to the United
States as an immigrant in 1982, as an agricultural worker. Through his own grit
and determination, he studied business administration and English, achieving his
dream to start a business that would benefit his community in Oaxaca.
